VEGETABLE TANNED LEATHERUpdated 8 months ago
Vegetable tanning is a traditional process by which natural cowhide is treated with plant-based tannins so that it develops a patina over time. This means, shoes made in this very natural leather will age beautiful with time. Bear in mind that regular sun exposure, natural grease, moisture and sweat from your hands might have a darkening effect on the leather.
We recommend:
- Using a white woolen cloth to clean surface dirt and dust
- Neutral waxes specific for footwear.
- Do not use any leather soaps, cleaners, or conditioners that contain lanolin.
- You may use our leather cream as it does not contain lanolin.
- When not in use, store your shoes in a box or cotton dust bag, not plastic bags, to let the leather breathe.
For more deeply engrained dirt or damage, we suggest referring to a specialized professional.
